Singing is a passion for all of the members of Gateway Men’s Chorus, but being a part of a non-profit that focuses on music with a mission, definitely creates a positive impact on it’s members as well as the Saint Louis area. This season will absolutely fill your entertainment needs with a variety of genres that absolutely fits all ages and walks of life – A perfect stocking stuffer! Our upcoming show, Hark, How The Bells will be performed on December 8th & 9th at Union Avenue Christian Church - 8pm. You’re guaranteed to feel the warmth, whimsy and love with this year’s holiday concert complete with songs both classic and new, while maintaining the atmosphere of an inclusive, non-denominational holiday celebration. Among your holiday favorites, we will have a special presentation of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Five Mystical Songs,” featuring soloist Dr. Robert McNichols Jr. and The Trinity Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir. This show is certainly an excellent way to “ring” in the holiday season! A second Gateway Men’s Chorus event included in our season ticket package includes our annual spring concert! This year our titled show, We Will Rise! held on March 16th and 17th 2018 at Union Avenue Christian Church – 8pm will draw focus on the socio-political events and issues that are impacting disenfranchised communities and minorities through the United States, and more importantly, here in the Saint Louis community. This show will be featuring the Saint Louis debut of Joel Thompson’s “Seven Last Words of The Unarmed” with a special commission by transgender composer and singer, Mari Esabel Valverde. This show is guaranteed to make any concert-goer feel a sense of love and community during a time of socio-political upheaval. The third, and last show included in your Season 31 tickets pays a homage to The Fab Four, in a show titled, Love is All You Need, performed on June 15th and 16th at 8pm, and June 17th at 2pm on the 2018 calendar; Location of the event will be held at the Edison Theatre inside Washington University’s campus. As the 31st season of Gateway Men’s Chorus draws to a close, we’re featuring engaging ballads and fantastic rock anthems that may very well feel as if you have traveled through time! Artistic Director, Robert Stumpf will be leading the chorus through recognizable Beatles classics such as “Hey Jude,” “With a Little Help From My Friends,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Yellow Submarine,” and many more, all arranged from the original harmonies by The Fab Four!
