For the past 40 years, Gateway Men's chorus has welcomed singers no matter their background, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity or musical experience level with the motto: You are WELCOME HERE! We are truly a family whose mission is to inspire audiences and celebrate the diversity of our community through musical artistry and social advocacy.
We couldn't have made it here without your generosity. By attending our concerts, fundraisers and community outreach activities, or by kindly supporting our mission through a donation, you have made it possible for our more than 60 members to entertain, enlighten and emotionally engage with diverse communities here and across the nation. Whether you sing in the shower, sing professionally, or you haven't sung in years, GMC is open to everyone 18 years and older who can comfortably sing in the tenor/bass vocal range. Regardless of your background, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity or musical experience level, you are WELCOME HERE! Join us at Second Presbyterian Church at 5801 Westminster for Open Rehearsals on the above dates. You can sing with us, meet our members and find out more about the Gateway Men's Chorus family. The mission of the Gateway Men’s Chorus is to
inspire audiences and celebrate the diversity of our community through musical artistry and social advocacy. To fulfill its mission, the chorus annually presents a three-concert season, performing a breadth of work ranging from classical choral repertoire to Broadway classics, from holiday favorites to iconic LGBT choral anthems, and many of the songs that helped shape our lives. The organization continues to participate in a wide range of special events and community outreach activities throughout the region, including sporting events, Pride month activities, and local fundraisers. |

Our History
Since 1987, when 22 men formed St. Louis's first gay chorus, the Gateway Men’s Chorus has opened its stage to more than 700 singers and performed more than 1,,400 musical works including contemporary, classical, adaptations of poetry standards, Supreme Court speeches, and satirical works. 2027 marks GMC's 40th season of music and community outreach programs.
The Gateway Men's chorus performs three mainstage concerts annually and engages in many community outreach projects including efforts to feed St. Louis families, St. Louis Pride Night with the Cardinals, requested musical performances at churches to help fund efforts for those in need and more. addition to appearing on stages around St. Louis, the chorus has performed in Kansas City, Denver, Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Montreal, San Jose, Tampa, and has even auditioned for America’s Got Talent!
