Through our music and through our mission, we provide opportunities for LGBTQIA+ persons to find community, to strengthen their sense of self, and to reconnect with their love of music. This mission is made possible through the generous donations of caring individuals from throughout the Greater Saint Louis region and beyond. Your love and thoughtfulness enables us to purchase new and exciting music, to stage thought-provoking and socially challenging concerts three times a year, and to provide scholarships that enable singers to be part of their larger community. With your help, we are saving lives and we are spreading a message of love and acceptance.
Together, our message of inclusion, equity, and acceptance will continue to touch hearts and minds and echo throughout our great city through music and song. For 36 years, the Gateway Men's Chorus has provided a vital service to the LGBTQIA+ community of St. Louis. By creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals to come together and create music, we have helped establish lifelong friendships, allowed our singers to reconnect with their musical selves, and saved lives. Including my own.
Every Monday, we host a rehearsal for our singers. While we are busy preparing music for concerts, we are also creates bonds within the community. Music is the gateway to family, friends, and lasting impact upon a community that experiences enormous setbacks every day with housing, employment, and social acceptance.
