Sing with the Chorus!
Gateway Men's Chorus is St. Louis's longest tenured LGBTQIA+ arts organization, now celebrating our 32nd season.
The rehearsal cycle for 1969 begins Monday, March 25th, 2019, and then we meet every Monday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Centene Center for the Arts (3547 Olive Street).
All singers are welcome whether you sing professionally, you sing in the shower, or you haven't sung in years. GMC is open to everyone 18 years and older who sing in the tenor/bass vocal range regardless of background, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity or musical background.
GMC has a space for every voice. At the first rehearsal, you will be assessed for vocal placement and musical aptitude.
Dues are $70 for this rehearsal cycle. Scholarships are available, so please call the GMC office for more information.
Become a Volunteer!
So maybe singing isn't your thing, but you still want to be involved. No problem, Gateway Men's Chorus has many volunteer opportunities available!
Throughout the year, GMC stages three major concert series -- in December, March, and June. But the show isn't just the singers onstage, it's also the stage managers, lighting technicians, front-of-house staff, set designers, and projection artists. We have plenty of opportunities for wherever your talents lie!
In addition to our concerts, we host many fundraising events from our newly re-launched Wine & Art event to our annual Trivia Night to our saucy and tantalizing Cabaret Risque gala, GMC needs volunteers to help staff our registration tables, setup the events, and act as hosts to our distinguished guests!
Finally, we have space on all of our committees. Driven by our Board of Directors, our Fundraising & Events, Development, Marketing, and Membership committees help determine the direction of the Chorus!
Join our Leadership!
With a 32 year history behind us, Gateway Men's Chorus has undergone many changes through the years. All of these decisions are made by our Board of Directors.
The Board is made up of leadership groomed from the Saint Louis community, from our singing membership, and all of them, with many different backgrounds and qualifications.
Our Board of Directors is elected by our membership during our annual meeting in July, and each director serves for a three-year term.
At this time, we're especially looking for candidates with skills in accounting & finance, marketing, donor cultivation, and individuals that can help GMC expand its relationship with the many communities throughout Saint Louis.
